V roce 2017 v Anglii a Walesu zemřelo téměř 600 bezdomovců. Více než čtyři pětiny byli muži. Nejčastěji bezdomovci umírali ve velkých městech
V roce 2017 podle odhadů britského statistického úřadu v Anglii a Walesu zemřelo v souvislosti s bezdomovectvím 597 lidí, což představuje nárůst o 24 % během posledních pěti let. Muži tvořili 84 % zemřelých bezdomovců. Průměrný věk při úmrtí byl 44 let u mužů a 42 let u žen (průměrný věk při úmrtí v celkové populaci Anglie a Walesu byl 76 let u mužů a 81 let u žen). Více než polovina všech úmrtí bezdomovců v roce 2017 byla způsobena otravou drogami, onemocněním jater nebo sebevraždou. Samotné předávkování drogami tvoří 32 % z celkového počtu úmrtí. Nejvyšší úmrtnost, a to jak v počtech úmrtí, tak i v přepočtu na milion obyvatel, měly Londýn a severozápad Anglie. Nejvyšší odhadovaný počet úmrtí bezdomovců byl ve velkých městech jako je Manchester nebo Birmingham.
